- In addition, read Judges 11:29 to 11:39. If memory serves, it is about
- Jephthah, (or something like that) who was leading his troops into battle.
- He was in serious difficulty and promised God that, if he won the battle,
- he would sacrifice the first thing that he saw when he returned home. A
- few days later, he sacrificed his only child.

- Then there is the story of that fellow whom God wanted to test. God
- told him to sacrifice his son. So he did. I don't even remember the
- names on this story, but there are actually two versions with different
- names. In one version, God tortures the father, but eventually lets the
- child live. Anyone want to help me out with this one?
