- That's not what most people understand by "literally". The on-line
- Webster says (in part)

- "according with the letter of the scriptures"

- and then goes on to talk about "adhering to fact or to the ordinary
- construction or primary meaning of a term or expression"

- It looks to me as though what you mean by "literally" has something
- to do with literary criticism, and interpretation w.r.t a literary
- style or cultural background, but it's not entirely clear what.
