  26. These statements are ridiculous... I realize that you must earn money to
  27. live...  I realize that the art that sells is the art that is pushed by the
  28. media cannon...  I just dont belive that simply because you can sell a
  29. piece, or cant sell a piece has anything to do with the piece being art... 
  30. There certainly exists art that is made to be sold, but that is not even
  31. close to all of it... Murals, installations, public performances,
  32. happenings, activist art... all of these are are, and most of it does _NOT_
  33. sell...  Many pieces are funded by granting organizations for the benefit
  34. of the artist and the public... NOT funded by the artist for the sale...

  36. Anything presented as art by the visual artist in this day and time is art.

  40. visual artist, and who is just a public viewer giving his/her opinion?
