- If a bow doesn't have properly reinforced tips, the excess energy that's
- not absorbed by the string can, over time, cause the limbs to crack. There
- are pictures of this in some books I've seen. My bow came with an OK to
- use fast flight.

- On a similar note, I received this from another fan of alt.archery:

- I'd thought you'd like to have this information and perhaps pass it on for
- me about fast like.
-
- I like fast flite a lot; not because it's faster, smoother, louder, or any
- reasons like that. The main reason came from a couple of years ago when I
- was actively competing in Fita style. You'd have to stand outside and
- shoot in any weather unless it's thunderstorming. Fast flite does not
- stretch nearly as much as Dacron or most other materials when wet (I don't
- use Kevlar, it wears too quickly), i.e., your brace height won't change
- from 8" to 4" when it rains. Another advantage seldom mentioned is that
- if you accidentally brushed your string with a sharpenned broad head, your
- bow won't explode if you have fast flite (personal experience speaking).
-
- IF AND ONLY IF your bow is rated for fast flite, be happy with it.
