- This is a problem with plecos. The shippers tend to starve the
- fish for a while before shipping them, because plecos deficate
- so much. If they starve beyond a certain point, they are done
- for. There are specific things you are supposed to look for to
- detect a starving pleco which I do not recollect offhand. Anyway,
- plecos often die soon after arriving in one's tanks, and that's
- that.
