  27. Yes, the really interesting thing to do would be to have all government
  28. documents online at the beck and call of your personal computer.  Wow, that
  29. would help people be able to back up what they are saying much more
  30. conveniently.  (I'd like to hear this "story" if it's not TOO depressing)

  32. As for e-mail, first of all I don't forsee a real big increase in the amount
  33. of communication our reps receive if they do make it available (I think the
  34. inhabitants of this net.world are still a pretty small percentage of the
  35. population, and unfortunately, not a good cross section thereof).  But if
  36. it did catch on in a big way, e-mail would become mail given the lowest
  37. priority I would think, since its ease makes it easier to send junk and
  38. in general not well thought out arguments or positions (needless to say :-).
  39. But if that did happen, receiving an old fashioned scribed-on-a-dead-tree
  40. type letter will seem so much more impressive than it does now.  Then THAT
  41. would get their attention.

  43. But e-mail would be great for letting congressman/representatives know how
  44. their constituents feel about any particular issue.  There could be a form you
  45. could send that could be processed automatically.  This would be an excellant
  46. use!
