- Hello,
-
- We are running MultiNet over SLIP (we'd use ethernet if we had
- it, but...), and are having problems with data transfer:
-
- With ftp, small files transfer okay, but anything larger than ~20K
- fails - it transfers the first few block, then freezes up and
- eventually times out:
-
- DB1.CC.ROCHESTER.EDU>put year93.lis year93_b.lis
- <ASCII transfer started for DISK$USER10:[RPSS]YEAR93_B.LIS;
- (...several minutes elapse here...)
- net write: %MULTINET-F-ECONNCLOSED, Connection closed
- [Aborting data transfer]
- <File transfer completed ok
-
- Mail (PMDF) seems to have similar problems - small messages transfer
- okay, but larger ones fail:
-
- $ run pmdf_root:[exe]mtcp_master
-
- Starting delivery of
- PMDF_ROOT:[QUEUE.MTCP_LOCAL]992DC0EE1F1F400B5E.00;1
-
- 11-JAN-93 00:52:31: SMTP routine failure on file:
- PMDF_ROOT:[QUEUE.MTCP_LOCAL]992DC0EE1F1F400B5E.00;1
- Starting delivery of

-
- Telnet mostly works, but is quite slow, and occasionally disconnects.
-
- We are running VMS 5.5-1, MultiNet 3.0-G, PMDF 3.1 on a MacroVAX-II
- (which we would upgrade if we could :-).
-
- Does anyone have any idea what is happening, or what I should look
- for?
-
- Any leads would be much appreciated.
