  21. SEND/FOREIGN from a foreign protocol interface across MAIL-11 used to work.
  22. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case; DEC appears to have broken it
  23. at some point along the way. It now appears to be subject to the same
  24. constraints that have always applied to record-oriented messages. And since
  25. foreign messages are by definition block-oriented, this means that they fail
  26. in almost all cases.

  28. I have described the problems with the foreign protocol interface and line
  29. length limits in great detail in the past. I won't bore you with a repetition
  30. of them here.

  32. Always keep in mind that /FOREIGN is undocumented and unsupported. MAIL-11's
  33. support for it has always been a bit hokey.
