Ok Ken, I will look around for that mag. I appreciate the tip.
I am over here in south Durham County, where there appears to be a "hole" as far as packet BBS's are concerned. If things work out, I am planning to get an FBB BBS set up on 145.01 to serve Chapel Hill and Durham. Right now all my BBS-capable resources are tied up at work, but hope to turn my tax refund into a 486 which will be the BBS. I have already talked with Charles WB4WOR in Greensboro about forwarding and have the program pretty much configured. If/when the BBS gets going, I hope to concentrate o
n building a library of ham-related files and programs that can be downloaded easily.
Meanwhile, I use a dusty old Commodore 64 at home to run mostly Amtor on 40 and 20 meters, and 2 meter packet when I can find someone to talk to. If you are into packet radio, I would enjoy talking with you some weekend morning on there. I have a beam pointed at the DNC node.
By the way, now that Christmas is over, you can take all the old mags out of the closets!
