- I am a member of Spa Health Clubs. I initially joined in north Raleigh, but my
- membership allows me to go to any of the clubs in the area (and in other
- cities). I go to the club at Willowdaile shopping center in Durham; they have
- a medium-sized pool, aerobics classes pretty much all day every day, machines,
- free weights, lifecycles, stairsteppers, rowing machines, etc. Also water
- aerobics, sauna, and steamroom. My initial membership was four years for
- $375 (one of those free because I paid cash, and I drew an additional free
- year in an incentive drawing!), and my renewal is (and will be for all time)
- $150 per year. The prices may have gone up some since I joined in 1986, but
- I think Spa is probably still cheaper than most of the other clubs in the area
- (I cringe when I hear of people paying $50/month for dues).
-
- Note that many of the Spa clubs have no pool.
