  19. This is a contract position to start immediately and continue
  20. until April 30, 1993 with the strong possibility of ongoing
  21. employment.

  23. NirvCentre, a non-profit organization which operates the Web
  24. computer communication network, is seeking an experienced Text
  25. Access Programmer for several projects involving both internal
  26. systems and the introduction of new services including full-text
  27. distributed information systems.
  28.  
  29. The successful candidate with have both an interest and proven
  30. commitment to working with social change organizations.  First
  31. projects will include work with human rights, environmental and
  32. development organizations.

  35. Required skills:
  36.  
  37.    *  knowledge of C and experience with Unix
  38.    *  knowledge of full-text database systems
  39.    *  knowledge of ascii-based user interfaces in a Unix environment
  40.    *  ability to work in a team setting with technical, programm
  41.       and support staff
  42.    *  excellent written and oral communication skills
  43.

  45. Assets:

  47.    *  French language skills 
  48.    *  knowledge of the Open Text full-text database product
  49.    *  knowledge of Internet-based distributed information-access tools

  52. Salary:
  53.  
  54.    *  $27,500 to $32,500 in a friendly, flexible, hectic,
  55.       and often demanding work environment.
