  15.     A posted article at the library indicated that new dating
  16. of the Siberian Traps (huge layered volcanic deposits similar to the
  17. Deccan or Columbian traps) puts them at the same time as the
  18. Permian extinction event, discouraging the asteroid impact hypothesis
  19. for this particular extinction.

  26. I think the Permian extinction event was ca.  220 m.y.a. but I can't
  27. remember now.
