- That is where I disagree. Unless the U.S. decides to embrace worldwide
- socialism in order to bring the Third World up to our standards (at our
- expense, of course) it won't happen.

- Another possibility where our standard of living COULD decrease is if every
- environmentalist's whim became a law. Without power plants, automobiles,
- genetic/medical research, or food preservation techniques that are currently
- opposed to by many groups, life would become quite grim indeed.
