- invented breakfast cereal. Mr. Kellogg, in fact, designed his original cereals
- to prevent masturbation in young boys through proper nutrition. Only an
- American could come up with an off-the-wall idea like that. Later breakfast
- cereals were designed primarily to use up wheat chaff which was cheap and in
- great surplus.
