- Before kindergarten, I didn't know my mother was different. She
- was just my mom.
- Then one day in the cafeteria, with all the other kids around, I
- opened my Hot Wheels lunch box and found a nut cracker, and a whole boiled
- crab. I was psyched. It tasted great, and it looked really cool.
- Now I *would* say that my mother was a very subtle and very
- intelligent woman, with a keen grasp of kindergarten social dynamics.
- After all, I was top dog amongst the other kids for days after, I was
- The Guy That Ate The Giant Spider.
- But then about a week later I opened my lunch box and found three
- plastic baggies, each containing a different flavor of jello.
