- Z/e/fs are not legally defined as persons and I, for one, think that's the
- way it should be.
- Parentietical note: Z/e/fs are not mentioned in the Constitution
- because, for one thing, abortion wasn't even regarded as an issue at the time
- *and* was not illegal before "quickening", I believe.
- I think you'll also discover, if you examine the history of abortion
- and abortion legislation in this country, that the impetus behind anti-
- abortion laws (which started to crop up in the previous century) was not a
- concern for the "preborn" but for the health and safety of pregnant women.
- The procedure used to be a heck of a lot more risky than it is now.
