  14. who are unwilling to admit the *possibility* that they may be wrong, but
  15. here goes anyway. (I know I'll regret it, but I just can't help myself
  16. any longer.)

  33. The basic problem here is the use of the word "child". What child? The
  34. basis of disagreement is whether a fetus is a child. Surely, you must
  35. admit that if there is no child, there is no murder.

  37. Upon what facts do you base your decision that a fetus is a child?
  38. Because it has arms and legs, a head, a torso & looks like a baby? So
  39. does a cabbage patch doll. Because it is alive? So is a dandelion.
  40. Because it reacts to stimuli, like pain? So do some simple organisms.
  41. Most reasonable people would agree that there is a point at which a
  42. fetus becomes a child. The disagreement is when? Personally, I believe
  43. that it has to do with brain activity. I would even go so far as to say
  44. that current law allows abortions to take place after said change
  45. occurs. However, to say that ALL abortion is murder is just brainless
  46. and silly.

  70. From listening to 'All abortion is murder' types, I get the impression
  71. that they are as much opposed to the prevention of a potential child
  72. as they are opposed to what they believe to be murder. At what point
  73. does this stop? Why then, isn't contraception murder? Why isn't
  74. abstinence murder? (Willfully preventing the creation of a child).

  76. As someone recently pointed out, in order to discuss, you must have *some*
  77. common ground. If you wish to convince anybody, you need to first show
  78. what beliefs you share, and work from there. You have not done this.
