  11. Several replies to my posting indicate that the posters misunderstood
  12. the point.  I quoted from Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton to show that
  13. the Supreme Court LEGALIZED abortion on demand for the full nine
  14. months of pregnancy.  That is, neither the federal government nor any
  15. state or local government can pass any law outlawing any abortion.
  16. Any woman who wants to have an abortion at any time during her preg-
  17. nancy need only find a physician who is willing to perform it.  The
  18. law cannot effectively forbid her to get an abortion nor can it
  19. forbid a physician from performing an abortion on any woman who wants
  20. one at any time during her pregnancy.

  22. If very few physicians are willing to perform abortions, especially
  23. late term abortions, that is wonderful.  It would be even better if
  24. all physicians refused to perform abortions.  However, that does not
  25. affect the legality of abortion.

  27. Incidentally, after I posted my original statement someone sent me
  28. directly some documentation supporting what I said. Because of a
  29. glitch while I was reading my mail, the message was lost.  If that
  30. person would send me the material again, I would be grateful.
