  23. INTELLECTUAL COWARD! Only PART of my article was, er, passionate enough to 
  24. be considered a "tirade". You're using that part as an excuse to avoid the
  25. rest of the article, which was a solid frontal attack on the alleged 
  26. "logic" behind the current paternity child support laws. 
  27.  
  28. Here is a summary of the intellectual points you're trying to run away from:
  29.  
  30.     1) The goal, which you have endorsed, of ensuring that every child is 
  31.        supported is essentially a socialist goal. The capitalist paradigm
  32.        would let the children starve.
  33.  
  34.     2) The "pure" lottery system I proposed to meet that goal would be
  35.        far more efficient than the de facto "genetic lottery" system we
  36.        have now, yet you dismiss it for no coherent reason. 
  37.  
  38.     3) Genetic similarity isn't really a solid foundation for ANY kind of
  39.        social policy.
  40.  
  41.     4) The method of scapegoating one segment of the population for
  42.        universal problems is a favorite tactic of fascists and other
  43.        opportunists. Men are currently being scapegoated for the problem 
  44.        of illegitimate children. Compare the Old South's attempt to 
  45.        "solve" its economic problems through the institution of slavery,
  46.        or Hitler's attempts to blame all of Germany's problems on Jews. 
  47.        Is this the precedent we want to follow?

  49.     5) The current paternity child support situation is a legal aberration,
  50.        in that it PRETENDS to assign child support liability according to
  51.        personal responsibility, but conveniently "overlooks" the unilateral
  52.        choices made between conception and childbirth -- choices that are
  53.        not only important as incrementally liability-attracting, but 
  54.        particularly important in that they represent the Last Clear Chance
  55.        for anyone to avert the social expense of bringing an illegitimate
  56.        child into the world. The only thing propping up the continuation
  57.        of this aberration are special interests.

  59. If you ever grow a backbone, and decide you do actually want to address ISSUES,
  60. Michal, I'll still be waiting here...
