  13. once again, i feel i must correct something which is seriously amiss.
  14. the claim was made that Roe v Wade allowed abortions up until the 9th month.

  16. please, people, get a clue !!! or, at least, consult a lawbook before you
  17. go around quoting the law very incorrectly. Ever heard of the trimester?
  18. That's the primary set-up that Roe V Wade established that had never 
  19. previously before been set by law regarding abortions. It goes like this:

  21. 1 - first three months: mother gets to decide. neither state nor doctor have
  22. a 'fetal' interest. 
  23.  
  24. 2 - second three months: state and doctor 'fetal' interest increases, mother
  25. must have a more valid reason - usually medically motivated - to have an
  26. abortion.

  28. 3 - state 'fetal' interest is greater than the mothers: maybe under health
  29. risks could she get an abortion.

  31. i will admit that i am not a lawyer but i did take a law class the previous
  32. semester, Law and Ethics - very appropriate, and so i have a pretty good 
  33. idea of what the law says. However, now the last case that went to the 
  34. Supreme Court has all abolished the trimester system and i, myself, am 
  35. confused as to what the law allows. i don't even care really.

  37. who knows? maybe god allows abortions as part of his ever-loving and 
  38. oh so wonderful everlasting 'plan' that we are all to partake in one day
  39. in the future. maybe god allows abortions because he truly recognizes
  40. the fact that the real reason (as it seems to me - a woman who was raised
  41. in a society who was busy telling her what she should be and using guilt
  42. to do it) women are prohibited from having abortions is cuz men don't want
  43. us to. just maybe. i realize not all are control freaks, but i also realize
  44. that not all men want women to be self actualized. call it murder if you
  45. like. i call it - i'm doing what the hell i want with my body and you can't 
  46. stop me . besides, if god doesn't like it that much, why doesn't he stop it?
  47. same reason he won't stop wars and such.... it's his 'plan'.
