- is cleared up, anyway:

- I disagree that ensuring equality is the same as AFFIRMATIVE action.
- Ensuring that new hires are in the right "proportions" is nowhere
- near as active or affirmative as declaring that companies must have
- the given "proportions" overall. You propose the former but reject
- affirmatively hiring disproportionately more minorities/women until
- an overall balance is reached.
