- Well, it is 100% definite yet but unless something goes wildly wrong,
- Clarisse (My SO) and I will be moving to England for 6 months as of
- Feb 1. The company that fired me without notice back in September
- wants me to take care of all of their computers in England and the
- rest of Europe (about 15 now - double that in 6 months?), install
- them, fix them and answer all the questions of the users. After
- that who knows. Japan is still a possibility (faint). An extension
- is also a possibility (esp if sales are good). Wanna buy a nice
- medical imaging computer?
-
- Although the office is in Newbury Berks., there's not much reason to
- be there. I need to be fairly close (<1 hr.) to Heathrow so I can
- get to the continent fairly quickly. Reading?Windsor?High Wycombe?
- Any suggestions on what's a nice place and equally important, what
- places to avoid, would be most appreciated. I'll need a car (customers
- in Wales, Bristol, Leeds, London) and a good train schedule.
-
- Does anybody live near there? Anybody at Reading U.? Any spare
- smoke-damaged rooms at the castle?
-
- I can solve most problems by throwing money at them (either mine
- or the company's) but I don't want to end up with less money after
- working there for six months. The biggest problem will be friends.
- Friendly people of any orientation (man facing southeast?) are
- most welcome to contact me (esp. now that my mail headers work!).
-
- E-mail in the UK will be really iffy - I'll probably have to do
- it myself. If anyone wants to send me a mailing address/telephone
- number, that might be pretty useful. Assuming anyone wants to see
- me :-)}.
-
- Cheers
- Nigel
