- I am doing a paper on multimedia/multisensory user interfaces for a
- virtual environment, and have put together a short survey for anyone
- who has actually designed, tested or used any VR devices. Please send
- replies to either this address or marks@pwfire.pweh.utc.com My
- definition of user interface for virtual reality includes all hardware
- interaction devices (i.e HMDs and Datagloves) as well as the software
- behind them.
-
- 1. What VR devices have you had a chance to use or work with?
- 2. What applications were these devices used for?
- 3. What do you think are the limitations of these devices?
- 4. Do you think any other interface/device could do better.
- 4. How effective were those devices for that application?
- If effective, were these devices necessary, or could the same
- end result have occurred utilizing a screen, mouse, and/or joystick.
- If not effective, why?
- 5. What do you think is required to have a complete multimedia/multisensory
- interface?
-
- Any other info you can send me is greatly appreciated. Copies of my
- final paper will be sent to anyone who responds (if they'd like).
