  10. I've heard a rumor that some organization (SSI?) has actually 
  11. built a large railgun somewhere in the SW USA.  It's apparently
  12. supposed to be big enough to put small payloads (>5 kg) into 
  13. orbit, though I don't know if they've done that yet.
