- I've been watching A&E's "Pole to Pole" with a large atlas and
- while looking over the points of interest along the 30th East
- Longitude, I happened to notice something odd in Antarctica:
- A mark at about 84S 58E called the "Pole of Inaccessability".
- Looking at the map index I find that, sure enough, it checks.
- But what is it? There is no coresponding North Pole of
- Inaccessability that I can find in the Arctic.
-
- P.s. One wonders what would happen if a citizenry of the southern
- continent would claim soverenty and kick the UN out.
- Antarctica for Antarcticans. Oh well.
-
- P.p.s. If there's a geographical newsgroup more appropriate for
- such a question, I'd appreciate a pointer.
