  12. I have another (sorry) tangent for the "Textbook" thread.  I have no data to  
  13. back up or gainsay what the following implies, but if anyone does...:

  15. I read an article years ago by an author.  He said that he had won some sort of  
  16. writing scholarship from the government in high school which allowed him to  
  17. attend some prestigious school and study writing.  He graduated and has since  
  18. caused millions of books to be sold, and, he figured, thereby generated $(some  
  19. large number) of tax revenue.  Hence the government's investment in his  
  20. education was returned mega-fold.
