- Hi,
-
- I would like to know the equation(s) which describe the locus of a
- mobile point which is in the same distance from two given
- polynomial curves and/or straight lines.
- For example, given a circle and a straight line,
- the locus of the point is a kind of parabola settled between
- circle and line. I am especially interested in the equations
- describing the locus-curves between conic sections and/or
- straight lines.
-
- In order to compute a set of solution points, I am looking
- for an algorithm which is able to compute all intersection points
- between conic sections in the plane. Does an algorithm exists for
- computing intersections of general polynomial curves?
-
- I will thank you for any hints on textbooks etc.
-
- Best regards,
- Roland
