  22. There is now a whole range of possible videos. I have only seen one
  23. (which I own, and can recommend highly) namely "Fractals: an
  24. animated discussion --- Interviews with Benoit Mandelbrot and
  25. Edward Lorenz," by H-O Peitgen, H Jurgens and D Saupe.
  26. They are of course the Bremen people who wrote "The Beauty
  27. of Fractals" and "The Science of Fractal Images," and more
  28. recently a two volume introduction "Fractals for the class room."

  30. This video is "accessible to high school students on up."
  31. It contains animations of fractals, fractal music, explanations
  32. of some fractal concepts, a very elegant experiment with magnets,
  33. and of course the interviews with the grand people of fractals
  34. and "chaos."

  36. I would say it is very suitable for an introduction to engineers,
  37. but I have seen non-technical people enjoy it immensely.
  38. It was last priced at $50 at a mail order firm in California:
  39. Media Magic, PO Box 507, Nicasio, CA 94946, 415-662-2426,
  40. but it is also availible directly from the publishers;
  41. WH Freeman if I remember correctly.

  43. Media Magic (with whom I have no connection) have a nice
  44. catalog on "Computers in Science and Art", including all
  45. the classic books on fractals and chaos, T shirts, post cards
  46. and calenders with fractal designs, videos, fractal music CDs
  47. and software.

  49. Some of the other videos listed which you might consider, are
  50. titled "The beauty and complexity of the Mandelbrot set" 
  51. (John Hubbard), "The fractal universe -- educational" and
  52. "Dynamical Systems" (Robert L Devaney).
