  14. We would appreciate ANY info RE: a material and/or process to seal (from water
  15. absorption) and also electrically insulate a piezo-electric ceramic crystal,
  16. to be used for remote automated Ultrasonic flaw detection in hostile
  17. environment:
  18. -Lithiated heavy water (Ph-10) at 300¬ C, 1500psi. (10MPa)
  19. -High radiation fields (>1 Mrads gamma + neutrons)
  20.  
  21. Material used must be inorganic since organics do not survive the radiation
  22. fields.
  23.     Ceramic adhesive & sealants do not lend themselves well to this assembly. We
  24. are
  25. thinking along the lines of using sputtering or some such process to acheive
  26. the
  27. adherence neccessary.
