- Yep. All those philips things use the RC5 remote control system, which was
- developped by philips. have used it for about forever... So philips remotes
- that are for the same machine (i.e. TV remotes, VCR remotes, CD player
- remotes) are interchangeble. I tested this myself with a <1980 remote and a
- 1987 VCR. Works just fine. Also, if there's anything wrong, my local Philips
- Service Centre just sells some universal remote control... No known problems.

- Yeah, sure. Those things just sample the IR and record it. So if it says
- that it can record all other remote signals, it most probably will.... And
- the philips system is a very widely used one, so almost everything
- "universal" will be compatible....
