- Well, it could be as simple as replacing the idler wheel and the
- belts. Or, it could be as awful as a bad bearing on the drum
- assembly or a faulty capstan or drum driver.

- With no power applied, the heads should turn smooth as silk. If
- the rubber parts have never been replaced, that would probably
- be a real good place to start.
