  22.         Well, it could be as simple as replacing the idler wheel and the
  23.         belts.  Or, it could be as awful as a bad bearing on the drum
  24.         assembly or a faulty capstan or drum driver.

  26.         With no power applied, the heads should turn smooth as silk. If
  27.         the rubber parts have never been replaced, that would probably
  28.         be a real good place to start.
