- The only power saver device is called a power factor correction circuit.
- It adds capacticance to the line to reduce the pahse shift in current
- caused by inductive loads (motors, power supplies etc). Since utilities
- charge according to meters which measure Volt-Amps, this can be reduced
- by reducing the phase shift towards zero. thus making reducing the V-A's
- towards the Wattage .. or in other words reducing the reactive power so
- that only only REAL power is measured.
- This is usually done by using large caps or solid state methods used i
- switcher technology.
