- Enameled wire is, uhhh, enamel coated bare copper wire...
- Seriously, it's copper wire, most often of small gage, insulated
- only with a very thin layer of clear (sort of amber/brown)
- enamel.

- It is used primarily for coil or transformer winding, where
- the added thickness of "norma" insulation would occupy too
- much space, allowing fewer turns of wire in the same volume.
