  23. For all you folks looking for Tektronix oscilloscope manuals, old CRTs,
  24. etc., there is a retired Tek engineer who has quite a stock of old Tek
  25. manuals and such:

  32. Deane worked at Tek for 40 years, and was the guy in charge of telling 
  33. the rest of us we hadn't done it right yet.  He is taking care of the old
  34. stuff because he thinks that is part of doing it right  (you can decide for
  35. yourself what current Tek corporate policy is).  He is probably as much to
  36. thank as anyone for the old - but still usable - Tek equipment that you 
  37. folks are trying to scrounge parts and manuals for.  If not for him, the
  38. stuff would have fallen apart a long time ago.

  40. Deane sells this old stuff as a labor of love, and he isn't getting rich
  41. doing it.  If you think his prices are too high, or that he doesn't act
  42. like a "real businessman", you don't have to do business with him.  If
  43. you are a connoisseur of classic instrumentation, be glad to have an 
  44. opportunity to deal with one of the men that made it happen.
