- I am an electrical engineer who has been asked by a local high
- school to teach a basic physical science course in the fall.
- I am looking forward to this because of my own interest in science
- and technology. I want the course to be interesting and motivating
- to my students (8-10 total, 9th grade students). What work has
- been done to make the material interesting to non-technical
- and technical types? I want to encourage those who are interested
- in a career in science/math and also help those who are not
- to see the value of learning the material.
-
- The question is, what are some methods of teaching the material
- (including supplemental material) I could use in the class? How
- can I transfer my enthusiasm for the material to my students?
-
- I would be interested in dialog with anyone who has taught similar
- courses, especially those who are engineers and have taught science
- in high school.
