- In Canada, we are encouraged to take our cub packs (ages 8 - 10)
- camping. My pack camps 3 times per year. In late fall and winter
- we sleep in cabins, in June we use tents. For out spring camp
- every year in June we invite the older beavers (age 7 going on 8)
- who will be in cubs in the fall. This works as an effective
- recruiting technique, and the boys love it. I usually gets them
- started on their merit badges also.

- I think that the earlier boys (and girls) start camping the better.
