-
- Sorry to nitpick, but it's LEAP THE DIPS -- The Amedus Sink 1902 figure-8
- side-friction wooden roller coaster (last one in the world) which holds
- the record for oldest roller coaster (see our FAQ for this and other
- statistics).
-
- The SKYLINER was built by John Allen (Geoff Allen's little boy -- only
- kidding!) 8^), and was his first major wooden roller coaster design for
- PTC. It was originally built in 1960, and was moved in 1987 from Roseland
- Amusement Park (Canandaigua, NY -- it's original home) to it's current home
- at Lakemont. The ride was moved and rebuilt by Charlie Dinn (Dinn Corporation).

- Well, to my knowledge the ride has (or will soon) received National
- Historic Landmark status, and will be re-built in hopes of re-opening
- to the public. Last I heard Lakemont was bringing people in to assess
- the amount of work needed to get the ride up and running. It was loosely
- slated to re-open in late 1993, but that now looks impossible. I don't
- think the fate of doom is firmly sealed on this coaster, however.

- Hope this clarification helps...
