- Doctor! Doctor! Help me!

- Symptoms:

- 1. Extreme loss of power when accelerating or starting out in first.

- 2. Nearly stalls (but hangs on) when shifting from first to second, or
- when you floor the accelerator.

- 3. Horrible smell whenever the engine has to work to get up a steep hill,
- or over a snow drift, etc...
- The smell is not like oil, but more like the smell of a vacuum cleaner
- burning it's belt. Smell comes from the engine as well as in exhaust.

- 4. Extremely poor engine preformance at low idles and in 5th gear.
- 5. "Check Engine Light" comes on occationly, setting code 23

- What is wrong? What is making that smell?
