- In all the literature I have read about the Jaguar XJ-6
- Series I, the authors go on and on about how Jaguar
- contracted Dunlop to build an ultra-quiet tire for their
- ultra-luxary car. Well, the scheme worked. The XJ-6 was
- THE quietest luxury car for a number of years. Even quieter
- than RR and Bentley primarily because of the Dunlop radials!
- Today those tires are available but VERY expensive and hense
- the question.
-
- Do any of you out there in rec.autos.tech-land know of a
- cheaper, quiet tire? My XJ-S has 235-60SR15's on it and they
- are LOUD. As I can't hear or feel that big silky smooth V12
- and wind noise is minimal, I would surely like to put a
- quieter tire for the car. Advice???
