  11. I have an `87 Ford Taurus 3.0L engine.  What I would like to
  12. know is how to read out the error codes from the computer.

  14. I had a very disturbing experience with a dealerships service
  15. dept. last week.  I was told that the PT sensor was bad on
  16. my car.  It cost $50 to hook up to the computer for the
  17. diagnostic.  $125 dollars to replace the sensor and to clean
  18. the plates.  Not knowing what a PT sensor was, all I could do
  19. is accept their diagnosis.

  21. Well, when picking up the car and getting the bad part, I realized that
  22. a PT sensor was nothing than a potentiometer.  I took the part home
  23. and have sinced ohmed it out to discover that nothing was wrong with
  24. the original part.  I really feel like I got took!  The real irony
  25. to the story is that the car runs worse than it did before.  When I
  26. took it back, they claimed that it didn't exhibit any of the symptoms
  27. I was complaining about.... so nothing touched.
