- I can't say that I've been as pleased. Circa 1985 I had a
- cassette deck there three times, the first time to change a
- motor, the next two times to fix what they broke the first time.
- They ended up sending it out to another place because they
- couldn't fix it. The result is I have a motor with the wrong
- pulley on it (so the play band falls off frequently) and the
- record level doesn't match the play level anymore (I don't know
- why they would have touched that).
-
- My wife had a similar experience with her VCR, though not as
- severe.
-
- I used to go to Transistor Service Company and copy a page or
- two from a service manual so that I could fix something myself.
- Unfortunately they don't allow customers to see schematics
- anymore.
