  21. Probably the average total tax hit per person.  Some national
  22. magazine just came out with data that Oregonians rank 7th in the
  23. nation in this.  That is, the sum of all property, income and other
  24. state and local taxes in the state ranks us 7th in total tax burden
  25. per capita.

  27. Of course the governor and others who want more tax money respond 
  28. with the information that we really aren't that bad because we tax 
  29. higher income people more so the average Joe isn't hit that hard.  
  30. Barb and her bunch miss (possibly deliberatly) the point that the 
  31. state's total income is much higher than the national average.  In 
  32. spite of the reduction in property taxes our state and local 
  33. governments (combined) have more money per capita than 42 of the 
  34. other 49 states.  Their pleas of government poverty don't get any 
  35. sympathy from me.
