  13. I saw my first (hopefully not last) paid by-line today.  It wasn't
  14. anything earth-shattering, just a product review in a regional
  15. bicycling magazine.  While I've been self-publishing a small, somewhat
  16. industry-acclaimed newsletter, this was my first paid piece.  I don't
  17. mean to gloat, but I just wanted to let other misc.writers know that
  18. hard work and persistence (1.5 years) do pay off eventually.
