- I watched the recent Saturday Night LIve TV show and saw several
- of their skits about the Long Island Scandalous AMy Fisher and
- Buttafuoccos.
-
- I learned in school that NYS has a "Right of Publicity" which protects
- people's image from being used in a commercial context.
-
- How can SNL use these people's image in skits? Did they:
- 1) obtain a license
- 2) just declare "it's a parody"
- 3) say because they were part of a news story, their image is in
- the public domain
- 4) ???
-
- i'm curious, so thanks in advance for any insights
