- Hi,
-
- This regarding Mr Sareer A. Fazili's posting in misc.headlines:
-
- > regions, there will be just a trickle of news that is reported. India
- > has been running a holocaust of Nazi proportions in Kashmir for the
- > past 3 years, but only rarely do you ever hear of it. And when you do,
-
- > As for Afghanistan, now that the USSR is out, and also that the election
- > in this country is over, what does the US care about Afghanistan? There
- > is nothing there for them either. In this country, unless there is a MAJOR
- > interest on the part of the US, don't expect to see a great deal of media
- > coverage.

- Pakistan is on the verge of being declared a terrorist state by the
- US. It now joins a select band of countries such as Libya, Syria, Iraq
- and Iran who sponsor terrorism.
-
- Terrorists in Kashmir assisted by Pakistan have been indulging in a brutal
- orgy of murder, rape and oppression in the Kashmir valley. This clearly
- justifies its place in this rogue gallery of terrorist states.
-
- It is ironical that Pakistan which stones to death teenagers for
- eloping and dismembers petty thieves is talking about human rights in
- Kashmir. I do not disagree totally that Indian soldiers are involved in
- atrocities but every war however big or small has such excesses including
- Vietnam and the World Wars. Moreover the terrorists are themselves
- responsible for some of the harsh measures taken by the security forces.
- Initially the security forces kept their distance from the Muslim women
- considering their conservative culture till it was found some of these
- women were hiding AK-47s in their dress or were actually terrorists
- in disguise.
-
- Comparing the holocaust with the struggle in Kashmir is an insult to
- the Jewish people and denigration of the memories of the millions who were
- killed by the Nazis. The Jewish community in the US and in other parts of
- the world, monitors human rights abuses all over the world like no other
- watchdog group to prevent the horrors of World War II being repeated.
- Considering this it should be noted that Israel is covertly supporting
- the Indian security forces in the Kashmir valley to prevent the religious
- extremism from spilling into the Kashmir valley. This is obvious
- from the reports about the increased cooperation between the two countries
- regarding military matters.
-
- Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan.... the pattern is ominously clear,
- all states ruled by theocratic oligarchy or despotic dictators who
- maintain a tyrannical iron-grip over their masses. They threaten
- them with cruel and inhuman punishments for their alleged transgressions
- against Islam.
-
- Hence it is not a surprise that Pakistans plea for discussion on
- Kashmir is considered a mere noise in the midst of the cries for help in
- Bosnia and Somalia. Learn a lesson from the Brave Bosnian Muslims who did
- not want the war in Bosnia to be an Islamic issue but an European issue and
- a human rights issue. So they have desisted from an outright appeal to the
- Islamic community for help. Their voices are now being heeded and
- rightfully so, although a little late unfortunately.
-
- A word to Mr Sareer A. Fazili and and Pakistan about expecting help
- for their country. Learn to be independent otherwise you are likely to be
- left in the cold when your sole worth i.e. your strategic position in
- world geo-politics is found to be no longer of any value. Then your
- begging for external help will further lower you down into the abyss where
- Somalia finds itself today.
-
- In conclusion I do not condone excesses if any committed by the Indian
- security forces in Kashmir and believe that foreign journalists should be
- allowed in these areas. However it is a domestic problem and will be settled
- to the satisfaction of the Indian Muslims as well as the rest of India and
- above all the Kashmiris.
