  15. FOR SALE: Sun Microsystems 3/50 Workstation

  17. This is a true-blue (purple really) stock Sun 3/50, with the following:

  19.     - 68020 microprocessor
  20.     - 68881 co-processor (these are nice to have!)
  21.     - 4 Megs RAM (stock)
  22.     - B&W monochrome frame buffer
  23.     - All the standard Sun 3 stuff (2 serial ports, thin-net ethernet
  24.       AND aui port, DB-50 SCSI bus)
  25.     - Sun 3 keyboard & Mouse Systems optical mouse (stock, with pad)

  27. What it doesn't have:

  29.     - Any disks, tape, or other accessories (you can get a plethora of
  30.       these from the net, and besides, they never come with the system
  31.       anyway!)
  32.     - A monochrome monitor (these can be obtained from time-to-time from
  33.       the net also as organizations upgrade -- the Sun exchange program
  34.       only requires the CPU boards, and you can probably pick one up
  35.       for $cheap$ from one of these)

  37. I've been using this machine for over a year now as a unix-box with a trusty
  38. TVI-925 terminal as a console, and it's worked great!  If you're looking for
  39. a low-cost Unix platform to learn on or just play around with, this is it!
  40. Or, you can use it to trade up to a sparc (I think Sun is willing to give 
  41. you $600 credit for a Sun 3 CPU towards a SPARC, but verify this first if
  42. you plan to use it for an upgrade).

  45. I would prefer a buyer local to Orange County, CA to avoid having to
  46. ship it, but I'll consider all offers (you pay shipping, probably around
  47. $25 to pack & send it).
