- Well, as a consolation, in most states your landlord can still
- bill you for the time between your last PAID rent and the time
- the local deputies evict you. This WOULD be a "debt", and you
- might be able to offer to pay THAT in cash or argue in court that
- you made offer to pay and were refused....

- Seriously in Calif, very few rentals allow cash. Many won't even
- let you drop off a check at the complex office. I wonder if this
- has anything to do with the shortage of rental properties?
