- I just got one of the latest Panasonic models for $99. It has
- 10 channels and auto-selects a channel when you turn it on; this
- is the stand-up type which was actually my second choice - beats
- me why people like their phones sticking up in the air when it's
- on the base.
-
- Anyway, the sound quality is quite good. Very clear typically,
- although somehow it still sounds different from a corded phone,
- like the person on the other end is further away or something.
- The model I have has 2 settings for the loudness, so I keep it
- on the higher setting.
-
- My only gripe is that sometimes the channel it auto-selects
- is not the clearest available. A touch on the channel-scan
- button fixes that problem, though.
-
- Once my wife turned it on and heard someone else talking....
- Hasn't reoccurred yet, though, but now I keep it on the
- base more than I would otherwise, for security.
-
- It's light years better than my wife's 4 yr. old Sony, which
- also cost $99 back then. Isn't technology wonderful?
