- I found that SAM's Club to have Ni-Cads at a very good price. I did
- got to Trash Shack to get the charger for them though.

- It is true, NI-CADs produce less voltage, but they have a
- lower interal resistance allowing them to produce more
- current. Therefore, when you need current (motors) and
- can tolerate less voltage, use the NI-Cads. For my kids
- assorted trucks and cars, I use alkaline for the 9V
- battery and Ni-Cads for the drives. Becuase of the
- electronics the voltage is assumed by the designer so
- as to bias transistors and etc.. I've found that for
- electronic devices (non-motors) that use only two AA cells,
- the NI-Cads will not work.
-
- The NI-CADS also run down differently than other batteries.
- They don't give any warning like others. When it time, the
- quit very suddently.
-
- Mixing batteries in series will not cause any adverse
- effects. However, because of how they wear out may
- cause you to mistakenly replace wrong batteries. If
- wired in parrallel, the alkalines will try to charge
- the Ni-Cads.
