  11.      Hello my name is Robert Kellogg.  I am seventeen years old and
  12. a junior.  I live in north Idaho in a small town  call Bonners
  13. Ferry.  The reason for my entry in the K12 net is to communicate
  14. with any fellow engineers out there.  I guess I can't say I'm a
  15. engineer yet, but I soon hope to be.  The reason I got interested
  16. in engineering is this summer I when I was working at restaurant I
  17. was introduced to a man named Don Riechmuth.  He owns a corporation
  18. called Geomax.

  20.      Geomax is a corporation that works on river mechanics.  They
  21. engineer rivers that have problems with erosion.  This summer when
  22. I started working for them (It started out as computer service)
  23. they were working on a local river called the Moyie. So ever sense
  24. last summer I have been working for this company learning a lot on
  25. the earth's structure and the plate movements.  The neat thing
  26. about this particular field you have to have three backgrounds to
  27. understand all views.

  29.      They are Civil engineering, Biology, and Geology.  I thing, in
  30. fact I know this is going to be a major job needed in the future.

  32. It is a job that has been needed for a long time, because in the
  33. past there has been too many problems with Engineers, Biologists,
  34. and Geologists arguing instead of working together.  The reason
  35. they always have there differences is that they don't understand
  36. each others point of views.

  38.      So to anyone out there planing to go in to a engineering,
  39. science, or geological field it wouldn't hurt to have a little of
  40. all three in the back ground to understand your environment a
  41. little better.  I would really like to hear from some professionals
  42. out there or people interested in your enviornment to see what you
  43. thing of the new field.
